IFS Level 2 on Addiction and Eating Disorders

In this official (#1246) L2 IFS training, with Cece Sykes, in person/retreat mode, you complete a Level 2 in a 5day training: 14th-18th October 2025
This course will use lecture, demonstration, audiovisual, experiential exercises/practice and large/small group discussion. There will be a review of the IFS model and polarisations, working with dangerous fire-fighters, the nature of self-energy, working with exiles, unburdening and legacy burdens. Also more teaching on using direct access and applying advanced techniques to challenging clients.
Venue - This retreat-style L1S1 training will take place at Hotel Vila Galé, about 40kms to Lisbon.

Cece Sykes, LCSW is a senior trainer at the Internal Family Systems Institute with over thirty-five years of clinical experience specializing in recovery from trauma and addiction. Her chapter on addictive processes appears in IFS: Innovations & Elaborations (Routledge, 2016). She is co-author of a new book on IFS therapy released in 2023: Treating Addictive Processes with Internal Family Systems Therapy: A Compassionate and Effective Approach for Helping People Who Soothe or Distract with Substances, Food, Gambling, Pornography, and More. Cece also developed the Heart Lessons of the Journey retreat for an on-going study of therapist narratives. She lectures and consults internationally on these and other related subjects. Cece lives and works in the Chicago area.

This retreat-style Level1 training will take place from 14th - 18th October 2025 and 4th-9th April (Week2), at Ericeira, Hotel Vila Galé, 30 minutes driving from Lisbon.

Pre-requisite: IFS Level 1 completion is a requisite for this training.

A non-refundable deposit of 500€ will secure your place. Part-payments can be arranged, please indicate on the application. If withdrawing from the training within 60days of commencement the full fee is non-refundable. Please do not purchase flights until you have a formal confirmation that the course will run. Places will be held in date order of receipt of acceptable applications. Please note in case of cancellation we cannot reimburse any expenses you may have incurred, but we will reimburse the cost of travel insurance directly related to attending this workshop, on receipt of your insurance receipt. If you cannot attend a qualified substitute may attend in your place, pending approval from the training and organising team. All decisions are final and correspondence will not be entered into. In the event of the course not proceeding the deposit will be refunded, minus bank fees.
Cancellations: cancellations received 15 working days prior the first day of the event will receive a refund of registration fees less an administration charge of 20% of the event fee - only if your space can be filled.
Cancellations made after are liable for the full registration fee.
This Level 2 course consist of 5-day sessions – a total of 32 hours of training.
Note that you need to attend all training days in order to complete Level 2 training.
